Smith Central Activities Building

This freshly renovated building is the largest on our campus and contains our auditorium (with stage) that seats over 500 guests. It is also home to our large Dining Hall and kitchen facilities. The auditorium can be subdivided into smaller areas with sound deterrent dividers. Much of this will be detailed in the information below…

The stage that supports the large auditorium is also used as a meeting space, and is called the Black Water Room. It has state-of-the-art projection & sound equipment, theatrical-style dimmable track lighting and two direct-power sources for large equipment set ups (used by DJs, professional bands, light trees, etc.).

Many groups choose to use this room in dining-style for the comfort of their guests.

This is the large entrance foyer to the building that is often used as a pre-function area for hors d’ouvre service, cocktail hour, or group registration,

These offices are isolated from the hustle and bustle of the larger building and feature amenities that include a full-size refrigerator, multiple power stations, and comfortable conference-style furnishings.

The Camp Medic Space at Skelton 4-H is a state-of-the-art medic facility. This area is primarily used during the Summer Camping season to ensure the health and safety of our campers and staff.

In addition to the state-of-the-art medical facilities in our wellness center, 4-H Skelton employs two (2) Camp Medics each summer. The Camp Medics are typically certified EMTs or Registered Nurses and are considered on-duty at all times while campers are on the 4-H Center property.

The Camp Medics follow specific treatment procedures that are outlined by the 4-H Center’s advising physician. Any treatment that is outside of the training scope of the Camp Medics is handled by local E.M.S. or other medical professionals (Emergency Room, 4-H Center’s Advising Physician’s Office, Eye Doctor, etc.). All medication (prescription and over the counter) is kept and administered by the 4-H Center Camp Medics. Written logs are kept for all medications administered and all treatment given. You will be contacted if your child has an overnight stay in the Infirmary or needs additional medical treatment that would be provided outside of the 4-H Center.
